What is life? Isn’t it like a  long movie with an ever-changing plot and characters playing their roles at their destined time? All of us are the heroes and heroines of our lives, and we all have our villains making our lives hard. The biggest villain of my life has been the state of being physically unfit, with whom I have been in a vicious cycle of a fight for years now, winning, falling, getting up, winning again, falling again and the cycle goes on.
This is just a trailer of the journey of my life which has been filled with failures, setbacks, emotions, and successes. This is just a summary of my life’s story about how I went from being obese to such an extent that kept me depressed for months to start my fitness and wellness company – GoNutrifit.

I started as a skinny girl in Indore. It wasn’t until the 3rd year of my graduation that I started gaining weight due to hormonal changes. That was when the loop started. I gained weight, lost it, gained again and amidst this cycle, I got married and moved to Pune.
Pune was the place where I got into the world of fitness. I worked hard for two years and did endless cardio, but without any guidance on appropriate nutrition I ended up losing muscle. And that was when I conceived. I had to leave all the crash diets and focus on my pregnancy. The sudden change in my diet led me to gain 3 times the weight I had lost in the previous 2 years.

In the middle of my pregnancy, we moved to Shillong, and there I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, Myra, but I didn’t know what was coming would be the worst phase of my life. I was devastated because of the amount of fat I had put on. I was facing post-pregnancy problems that most women face, I was going through postpartum depression. I became so conscious about my body that I stopped meeting my friends, locked myself at home, and spent the next two years wearing pajamas. I fought my husband almost every single day, I cried on the pillow, I was just out of my mind because of the state of my body, I felt ugly. And on top of that, I felt that my career was destroyed and I will never be able to get back to my work again. I wanted to give up. But one day, I realized that my energy levels were so low that I would not play with my daughter, which was the turning point of my life. I started my fitness journey again, and this time under professional guidance, and this time I took care of my nutrition along with my workouts. In a period of six months, I got back in shape and it was visible to others too. People appreciated me for my efforts. I was finally able to get out of depression.
The loop rolled again and I was diagnosed with a chronic sinus infection which put a brake on my fitness journey. In the middle of that, we moved to Lucknow. Again, I was in a new city with no job. It had been a year for me to be unable to follow a healthy lifestyle. It started haunting me that the old days were coming back and I was not at all ready to go through all of that once again. I underwent surgery in Feb 2020, and before I fully recovered from the surgery, a nationwide lockdown was announced.

This time I wasn’t going to give up so easily, I saw the lockdown as an opportunity to follow my passion and became a certified nutrition and fitness expert. Being a doctor was a cakewalk for me. I have now helped more than 50+ people to achieve their fitness goals and made them realize that fitness is a lifestyle that allows you to live life to its fullest.
In the end, I would just like to remind you that life isn’t a destination, it’s a journey. There’s no happy ending to the movie of your life. New hurdles will keep coming to make your life hard, you’ll have to find ways to win over them. Sometimes you can do it alone, but at other times you need some assistance. I’ll advise you should not hesitate in seeking professional help. You’ve to make the effort to take that first step and you never know what God has for you in his kitty. All the best, keep hustling.
