“Mindset are those collection of beliefs and thoughts that make up the mental attitude, inclination, habit or disposition that predetermines a person’s interpretations and responses to events, circumstances and situations.”
Your mindset is a set of beliefs that shape how you make sense of the world and yourself. It influences how you think, feel, and behave in any given situation.
Before you buy a set of dumbells
Before you get a set of resistance bands
Before you adjust the kitchen scale set
Make sure you come to the arena with a MINDSET first!
Few mindset issues that I have observed about fitness that people have are:
𝟏. 𝐖𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞: usually when a medical issue strikes, the bell in the brain rings, but the ideal time is now! Always
𝟐. 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: All or none mindset kills the minimal effort required to just start. There will be always something lacking or on the way and that’s okay.
𝟑. 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧: a week, two weeks, a month… Still no results! You did not get frustrated when you slowly gained? What happened then?
𝟒. 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞: you either learn or you earn. You cannot lose by taking steps to be better. Maybe it’s a slow process, but giving up, won’t speed it up!
𝟓. 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲: Everything you do is teaching you something. If you don’t learn, you will forever stay where you are stuck. Be proactive and implement the learning.
𝟔. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧: comparison is the poison of efforts. If you constantly compare how you look, feel, and matter to someone else.. you will self loathe yourself to undo all that you can do. It’s you vs you! Always.
𝟕. 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬: obsessed with kilo loss! But ignoring the sleep, water intake, stressing, and over stressing, constantly eating out, not able to control on the binge, not working out, social media addiction! You name it. You know why you are slowing down!
𝟖. 𝐒𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐝𝐬:we all love tasty food, heart of heart everyone is foodie! So either be a foodie and be happy…or be goal specific food chaser and get results done. You can’t keep feet on both boats!
𝟗. 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬: you can’t eat this way or that way. But your way made you what you are, – that you don’t like! So you need to let go of your way, trust the process, and get the results you seek!
Premenstrual Syndrome & Craving
𝟏𝟎. 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝟏𝟐 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤/𝟐𝟒 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐬/ 𝟏 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬. If your eating, moving, breathing won’t stop after this time line, this will have to stay for life. Hence we call it lifestyle changes!
