There are no gender-specific workouts. Even science does not support the concept of different workouts for men and women. Yet most women avoid weight training exercises due to widespread misconception that it can be dangerous or will make them bulky. By doing so, they also miss out on numerous incredible health benefits offered by strength training exercises.
Heard today from someone how their family detests this fitness quest.
When I started my journey with SQUATS I remember I hated the insides of a gym myself.
My father in law had frowned and said women and muscles don’t look good. You stick to your yoga and walks. No need of gym.
Fast forward today I get called when anyone in family suffers from diabetes or fatty liver condition, father in law lost 10kgs eventually without counting calories, just swapping food groups and doing age appropriate exercises.
In case of suitcases to be lifted or gas cylinders to be moved, its always ….call Diya (my pet name) and the job will be done.
In a friendly brawl I told my hubby last evening, “if you talk like that again to your mom I will lift and slam you to the ground.” To which my mother in law shed some happy tears and told entire colony how powerful her daughter in law is
Friends who call for socializing or host dinner parties always call and ask what my food options will be, or get diet soft drinks because they know I won’t share the glass of alcohol. And no its NOT BECAUSE I AM A COACH, but because they know and over years I have made it clear, that when it comes to my health or goals I am not going to please others to drown my targets in hell hole. Neither do they expect. Nor I have to deal with “ek bite se kuch nahi hoga” syndrome.
Me falling off track due to cravings is anyways out of question.
People evolve. Both in you and around you. When day after day they see you strive to get something or go somewhere, people co operate, they understand, and they play along. You have to give them that time. And you have to keep your own passion burning. Survival of the fittest is not just a line. Its survival of the grit too… How diet you are.
These days, almost everyone is striving to achieve health and fitness goals. And, youngsters do seem to have a point of view on most subjects, especially health, fitness and leading a higher quality life. However, listening to advice and recommendations from well-meaning peers, when it comes to your health and fitness, can sometimes just be a sure-fire recipe for disaster.
So it nearly narrows down to one thing when your surrounding is concerned.
