How I Got Fit at Fifty Three with FITTR ?

There is so much information out there for those looking to get fit. I believe I have found the healthiest and most fool proof path to fat loss, body sculpting and a healthier me.

What does fitness mean to me?

I’m Sydenstrica Gautam, a mother of three & mother-in-law, and I’m 53 years old. Fitness meant not being obese and having a calm mind to me, having strived to be fit my entire life. I used to believe that staying fit required only a decent diet and moderate exercise. That worked for me until I started eating badly, but with modest exercise like running and yoga, I was able to keep the weight off. However, as you reach a certain age, your metabolism slows down, and before you know it, you’re buying a larger size of clothing.

The deciding point.

Despite my ongoing dabbling in various sorts of fitness and routines, I was unable to maintain my weight loss. After that, I began to eat less. This is an extremely common mistake. Excessive exercise or a reduced food intake will not help you lose weight. Fitness is a science, not a guessing game or a game of chance. It all comes down to finding the appropriate balance. The straw that broke the camel’s back came in April 2021, when I was diagnosed with Covid. My food absorption has been severely hampered since I developed the intestinal variation. I was hardly eating 1100 calories a day six months later, but I was severely out of shape and couldn’t lift even a 2kg dumbbell. That’s when I realised I’d had enough and needed assistance.

Why FITTR?

I’d joined the FITTR community a few years ago, but I was primarily a silent observer of the incredible transformations that were taking place. So, when I decided to transform, I went with FITTR because, as I previously stated, fitness is a science in which precision is vital. With FITTR, you receive a defined diet plan and, in my opinion, a quantified exercise plan. Neither of these regimens is tough to follow, believe me. ‘Get Shredded,’ the founder Jitendra Chouksey’s physical transformation bible, is written and followed by him. (Get Shredded, Chouksey) Once you get past the mental obstacle of weighing your ingredients, which you only have to do once a day in the morning, you can cook like a pro.

Because food has to be delicious to be eaten every day, FITTR allows you to make whatever you want within your macros. Macronutrients are the three types of nutrients that you consume the most and that provide you the greatest energy. Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fats are the three macronutrients. (Chouksey, 2021)

How did I achieve this?

To begin, I participated in the Transformation Challenge 14, a 12-week programme led by a coach. I chose Kamal Sharma because I had witnessed some of his transformations and felt he would be able to relate to my requirements. I was about to turn 53, and I had big plans. My goal for this TC was to reclaim the physique that I had ten years earlier. I had a 9-year-old bikini that I wanted to fit into at the conclusion of the challenge. After that, the real work began. Eat in moderation, exercise regularly, sleep well, and repeat. The mantra is “consistency.” Because we had recently moved to Goa, I completed my workouts at home for the first month. However, I began working out at the gym in the second month.

Within my macros, I cooked whatever I liked to eat. From biryani to desserts, we’ve got you covered. Every day, I made at least four dishes. Cooking is something I like doing because I want to. I stuck to my fitness schedule religiously, never missing a single day. When I was having trouble with cravings, I talked to my Coach about it, and we came up with a solution. This made it easier for me to stay on track.

The Outcome

Though I could feel the changes in my body from the first week, it wasn’t until the sixth week that I noticed them. Weekly progress videos were used to document this. I was inspired to work harder because of the favourable changes I witnessed. Nothing out of the ordinary is demanded of you that could be hazardous to your health. I had previously undergone four major abdominal surgeries, was on hypertension medication, and had Golfer’s elbow. But the specified routines were pretty doable for me. I was off medicine at the end of the challenge.

The overall effect after 12 weeks was incredible. My expectations were entirely satisfied, and I even exceeded my coach’s. I was able to fit into my swimsuit.

It is entirely within your power to transform your life; all it takes is one small move in the correct direction. Mine was taken. The beauty of this method is that it makes you want to learn more. I asked my instructor to help me prepare for ICN – I compete in Natural, which is a fitness and bodybuilding pageant. I plan to compete in the senior category.
