Yoga Mudras

We often talk about asanas, headstands, full splits, and pranayama in yoga. Today I want to bring in your lightless discussed topic of yoga that Mudra.

 Meditation is the ancient science of yoga that provides a calming and soothing experience to the mind, it removes negative thoughts from your mind. 

Mudra has great importance in life. There are two types of mudras, the first is done as an asana and the second is the hand Gesture. Along with postures in yoga, there are various Mudras, which you can learn and benefit from. Mudras can provide mental and physical health. Health benefits can be achieved by incorporating some yoga mudras into your routine – like Yoni Mudra or Hridaya Mudra.

Chin and Jnana Mudras which should be adopted whenever practicing meditation both the Mudras a simple but important psycho neural finger locks which make meditation Asanas more powerful.

Bhairava Mudra – The two hands represent Ida and Pingala Nadis and the union of the individual with the supreme consciousness.

This mudra is used during pranayama and meditation practice

Yoni Mudra – The interlocking of the fingers in this practice creates a complete cross-connection of energies from the right hand into the left and vice versa as well as balancing the energies in the body it helps to balance the activities of the right and left hemispheres of the brain.

This mudra makes the body and mind most stable in meditation and develops greater concentration, awareness, and internal physical relaxation.

Hridaya Mudra – This mudra diverts the flow of prana from the hands to the heart area in the middle and ring finger relate directly to Nadi is connected with the heart it is believed to be beneficial for your heart.

This Mudra helps to release pent-up emotions and unburden the heart it may be practiced during emotional conflict and crisis.
