When I first stepped onto a treadmill in 2015, my only goal was to lose weight. Little did I know, this fitness journey would evolve into something extraordinary. As with anything worthwhile, it required immense hard work, dedication, and, most importantly—consistency. For me, consistency has been the key to success, not just in fitness but in life itself.
Two major reasons pushed me to start my fitness journey. First, I lost a dear friend to cardiac arrest, primarily caused by being overweight. Second, there’s a popular spoof image of a man in a Superman costume who is noticeably overweight. That image resembled me before I took my health seriously. My daughter was often teased about my appearance, and although she always stood up for me, we both knew she was defending something that wasn’t right. My transformation became a promise to her; I wanted to look like a fit Superman, not just for myself, but for her too.
Like many others, my initial goal was simply to lose weight. While I managed to shed some pounds, it didn’t bring the satisfaction I expected. I still had a belly, despite my progress. Determined, I pushed further and got into better shape, but even then, I wasn’t fully satisfied. The visible muscle definition I longed for was missing. I realized I needed guidance, so I began training under Shanu Shashank. This was a game-changer. With a focus on quantified nutrition and intense workouts, I finally achieved the physique I desired. Yet, even then, my hunger for improvement wasn’t satisfied.
After Transformation Challenge 7 (TC7), I made a bold decision to participate in the ICN bodybuilding competition. It was the biggest step I’d ever taken in my fitness journey. Preparing for ICN required an elevated level of training, discipline, and mental strength. With Matin Shaikh as my coach, I pushed myself harder than ever before. To my amazement, I won a trophy at ICN! Considering where I started, winning at ICN felt like a dream come true—something I could never have imagined.
Now, as I reflect on my journey, I often ask myself, “Was it worth it?” The answer is always the same: “A million times worth it.”
Today, as a Fitness Coach, I am helping others transform their lives through fitness. I have mentored more than 1600 lives so far. And let me tell you, helping someone else transform feels even more rewarding than my own journey.
