My journey from battling a debilitating disease to becoming a Fittr coach has been a transformative one. As a child, I was quite skinny, but things changed after puberty when I started gaining weight. Throughout my teenage years, I struggled with being overweight and endured constant fat-shaming. In an attempt to lose weight, I resorted to starvation and various fad diets, but they only brought temporary results, and I quickly abandoned them.
In 2013, I finally found a solution through working out, and for the first time, I saw real results. I was thrilled with the progress I made, and my life seemed to be on track. However, in early January 2020, everything changed when I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, an autoimmune condition that caused my body’s immune system to attack its own organs. This disease made my body essentially allergic to itself, with my kidneys beginning to fail, filtering out all the protein from my body. The diagnosis was discovered by coincidence, but it ultimately saved my life.
I had been passionate about fitness since 2012, regularly working out, eating right, and staying fit. But this condition knocked me off my feet, leaving me unable to work or even move for several months. My body struggled to cope with the heavy doses of steroidal medication, leaving me constantly exhausted. I had to leave my job, gained weight, became depressed, and felt utterly miserable.
After two years of struggling with Lupus, I decided it was time to reclaim my life. I joined Fittr under the guidance of Coach Manish Padia, and everything changed. I returned to the gym, started quantifying my food, stayed active, and began seeing incredible results.
Two years later, I still live with Lupus and continue to take medication, but my life has never been better. Today, I proudly introduce myself as a Fittr coach. Fitness has given me a new lease on life, and I am committed to guiding others on their own transformation journeys.
