No matter what you do — lift weights, follow a meal plan, lose weight, gain muscle, stay lean — people will talk.
They might say:
Whether you’re doing your first push-up or prepping for a fitness photoshoot, the world always has something to say.
But here’s the truth: Most of these people aren’t walking in your shoes.
To a non-lifter, lifting 10 kg may seem “too much.”
To an advanced athlete, it’s just a warm-up.
To someone who doesn’t track food, a digital kitchen scale looks obsessive.
To a person focused on fat loss or muscle gain, it’s just data — like using a speedometer while driving.
👉 People respond to your actions based on their knowledge, experience, and comfort level.
So when someone says, “Why are you doing this?”,
what they’re often really saying is,
“I don’t understand it.”
You don’t owe anyone a justification for:
Your lifestyle is yours.
Let your results speak. Not your defenses.
Here’s a simple rule:
| Who is speaking? | Should you listen? |
|---|---|
| Qualified Coach | ✅ Yes |
| Certified Nutritionist or Trainer | ✅ Yes |
| Someone who has walked your path | ✅ Maybe |
| Random friend, nosy relative, social media troll | ❌ No |
Constructive feedback helps. Casual criticism drains.
Learn the difference.
Whenever someone’s opinion rattles you, ask:
“What’s my goal? Why did I start this journey?”
Write it down.
Keep a vision board.
Revisit your “why” weekly.
This builds internal clarity and reduces dependence on external approval.
| Situation | Perspective A | Perspective B |
|---|---|---|
| You lost 10 kg | “You look weak.” | “Wow, what discipline!” |
| You gained muscle | “You’ve become a pahalwaan.” | “Strong is the new sexy!” |
| You skip sugar | “Don’t be so rigid.” | “I wish I had that self-control.” |
| You log meals | “Too complicated.” | “Super methodical!” |
Every comment says more about the speaker than it does about you.
People often criticize what they:
Your actions might be triggering something in them:
So, their reaction is rarely about you.
It’s about them.
Understanding this gives you mental freedom.
Yes, growth happens when you’re open to learning. But not all advice is valid for your context.
Take inputs.
Stay curious.
But always ask:
“Does this align with my plan?”
The world celebrates outcomes — not the daily grind.
So when:
You might not get applause.
But you’re moving closer to your transformation — and that’s what counts.
Your journey is valid.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete.
Whether you’re losing fat or building strength.
Don’t let:
…derail your path.
Be consistent. Be teachable.
But most importantly, Be True to You.
“Everyone has an opinion. But you have a vision.
Trust that. Build on that. And don’t let the noise become your narrative.”
